Occupational Therapy Team

Gilly Vail

Principal Occupational Therapist

With over a decade of experience as an Occupational Therapist, my work with children and young people is focusing on on their unique strengths and needs, not just their diagnoses.

Having worked in diverse paediatric settings across London, from children’s community therapy teams to Psychosis neurodevelopmental inpatient wards, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of how both mental and physical health impact a child’s ability to engage in everyday life.

My Qualification and Accreditations are listed here.

I practice with a commitment to connection, attachment, and the understanding that every child’s behaviour is a way of communicating rather than trying to change or suppress these behaviours, I believe in exploring and understanding them to foster growth and development.

My approach is holistic recognising that every child is perfect as they are. My role is to create supportive environments and adapt activities to meet their needs, helping them thrive. Together, we work on replacing unhelpful coping strategies with effective ones that enhance their function and well-being.

I also provide coahing support to parents. By empowering parents with practical tools and skills, I help them connect meaningfully with their child and guide them toward independence. Through co-regulation, we work together to create calm, responsive interactions that support emotional and behavioural regulation.

I am committed to helping your child reach their full potential through a personalised, supportive approach that fosters real, lasting progress. By working together, we can create meaningful changes that enhance your child’s confidence and well-being, while supporting your family’s needs in a way that feels right for you.
